ACCA’s 6th Annual General Meeting, Bangkok - Thailand

The President, Mr Steve Leow welcomed all present and expressed his great appreciation to ACCA founder Mr Philip Wong (CBMA) for making possible the Association’s success of today. He was delighted to note that today’s meeting has the largest recorded number of participants. He thanked our Thailand host Mr Boonlieng Leongnarktongdee of Thai Containers Group (TCG) for organising this 3-day participants programme.

The Executive Secretary, Mr Liew KC confirmed the existence of a quorum for the meeting proper to commence.

- To receive and adopt the ACCA Audited Accounts for the year ended 30th April 2002.
- Re-Appointment of External Auditor.
- Appointment of Two Internal Auditors Mr Gilbert Heyraud of Bobst (Hong Kong) and Mr Gary Piong of Fosber (Malaysia).

- Confirmation of New Members
Ø Japan Corrugated Case Association (JCCA)
Ø China Packaging Technology Association (CPTA).

Mr. Uchida mention that Asia with its current 39.9 billion sq. m. of corrugated boards production occupies 31% of the world production. With the expected fast industrialisation progress of Asia in the coming future, there will be tremendous business growth opportunity for the corrugated industry in the region. ACCA will therefore have an even more significant role to play in the continued development of the corrugated industry in Asia.


The tentative workplan for subsequent ACCA meetings is as follows:

a) End March/Early April 2003 ---Shanghai and/or Beijing (to coincide with the
2003 Corrugated Exhibition in Shanghai. CPTA to confirm exact timing and venue)
b) June/July 2003 ---Australia (as promised to Brently Engineering)
c) November 2003 ---Japan (to coincide with JCCA annual technical seminar)
